Designed with veterinarian approval and years of customer feedback to be as comfortable and safe as possible for you and your pet.
I decided to sell the car but obviously didn't want to leave Dango behind. Dogs are allowed on the Cincinnati Metro if they're in a carrier, so I got the Trainer. It is well made, despite being the cheapesr option. I would recommend one of the more robust ones for trails, but for city public transit, walking, and biking, this is perfect. He doesn't like it yet... but once we actually start going out on adventures and he sees why I got it, I'm sure he'll be eager to go in the backpack.
He's not very treat motivated, so I did find that for us the best way to get him desensitized to the bag is to just stick him in there despite the protests and praise him bunches when he's in calmly.
To get my stubborn pup in the bag I first clipped the carabiner to his collar to prevent him from running off. Normally, after I think you're supposed to put your pups legs through the holes... my dog is a protester so I buckled the color next and zipped halfway (carefully ensuring no fur was stuck). This secured him enough to be able to pull his legs through without him thrashing and hurting himself. Once it was zipped and I got it on my back he was much calmer.
Large was a good size for a Shiba Inu. It is clear this model is designed for smaller dogs and large breed puppies as a stepping stone for the more robust ones... eventually if the Urban one ever comes in stock again I'd love to get that one.
I have not had a chance to test out the waterproofing, but in general I think it will keep the weather out from the feel of the material.
I attached a video of his first time in the k9 sport sack.
I have a dog with a condition called Megaesophagus, so when he eats, he needs to be in a unique chair to be upright. This backpack is perfect because after he eats I can just carry him around and he is in his upright position while he is also enjoying the view and loving it. He was right away comfortable in the backpack and loved the idea of denying the view while hanging with his best friend after a long hike and meal. I now wish I had bought this product a long time ago. I will be using it when we go in the town when we go on the electric scooters when we go for a walk by the lake, all the time. I love it.
My pups love riding in the backpack! It’s a great way to socialize without touching the ground before all puppy vaccines are given!!! Love it!!!
We bought the K9 Sport Sack for our little Bichon Dolly. She absolutely LOVED it! I was honestly skeptical about this purchase but needed something for our upcoming campo trip! She loved every minute of our hike and even sat on her bag when she was ready to go back in! So impressed and thankful! Can’t wait to purchase one for our new puppy!
