best little pack

Love this for my mini doxie. she is safe and secure on bike rides

great pack

Great for Commuting

I commute via the NYC Subway or LIRR which requires you to have your dog in a carrier. I love the backpack as it balances his weight out as I lug my laptop and other items needed for a days work (my work lets me bring him with me). It's also much nicer than his previous carrier as he isn't toally confined inside.

Only lasted 12 months

I'm so disappointed because I really loved my sport sack trainer, but after using it for only 12 months, the zipper totally broke. This bag is not made to be durable.

Dango has some adjusting to do...

I decided to sell the car but obviously didn't want to leave Dango behind. Dogs are allowed on the Cincinnati Metro if they're in a carrier, so I got the Trainer. It is well made, despite being the cheapesr option. I would recommend one of the more robust ones for trails, but for city public transit, walking, and biking, this is perfect. He doesn't like it yet... but once we actually start going out on adventures and he sees why I got it, I'm sure he'll be eager to go in the backpack.

He's not very treat motivated, so I did find that for us the best way to get him desensitized to the bag is to just stick him in there despite the protests and praise him bunches when he's in calmly.

To get my stubborn pup in the bag I first clipped the carabiner to his collar to prevent him from running off. Normally, after I think you're supposed to put your pups legs through the holes... my dog is a protester so I buckled the color next and zipped halfway (carefully ensuring no fur was stuck). This secured him enough to be able to pull his legs through without him thrashing and hurting himself. Once it was zipped and I got it on my back he was much calmer.

Large was a good size for a Shiba Inu. It is clear this model is designed for smaller dogs and large breed puppies as a stepping stone for the more robust ones... eventually if the Urban one ever comes in stock again I'd love to get that one.

I have not had a chance to test out the waterproofing, but in general I think it will keep the weather out from the feel of the material.

I attached a video of his first time in the k9 sport sack.
