It took me 3 or 4 tries and two days to finally get my 10 pound rat terrier into my new K9 Sport Sack, but once he was in it he seemed to be okay with it. I even took him for a bike ride, and he remained calm. I figured my next attempt to get him in it would be easier since he didn’t seem too stressed out by the experience, but for the next several days I attempted to get him back into the sack with no success at all. (And I DID watch the instructional videos online.) I really like everything about this product except that it’s so difficult to get my dog into it. The canvas is really stiff, so maybe a lighter fabric would help. Or maybe an extra zipper somewhere so the pack could be opened up more to get the dog more comfortably positioned before enclosing him. Unfortunately, I don’t think I can use this product and I’ve misplaced the shipping info so I don’t even think I can return it. Anybody wanna buy a very slightly used K9 Sport Sack?
The delivery was fast and perfect. Video instructions and enclosed instructions are helpful. I love the fabrics. It snugly fit my 14 pound Cairn Terrier. I also ordered a Plus 2 hoping I prefer the base with more tail room. I think they will both fit…
5 stars on ease of entry, comfort, and ability to see her while riding. Upgrade from other carrrier where only her head was out. Much better temperature control as we are in Texas heat and humidity. Only thing I will modify or change is a better quality collar clip as broke right away but have plenty around our house. Since we use a harness also a clip with short lead to hold her at the back versus the collar will be our personal preference. We love the whole experience.
My 13lbs long-bodied coton de tulear loved his trainer bag, but we used it so much it started to pull a hole near one of the arm straps and his leg would hang out. So, having verified that he will tolerate the bag, we upgraded to the Air 2 in a small size. It is substantially sturdier than the trainer. My pup still loves it with the upgrade. People regularly marvel at how calm and happy he is hanging out in his bag, taking in the sights. In fact he will "request" to get in when hot or tired or overwhelmed. So happy that this bag lets me take him inside of stores, on longer hikes, etc. If you are thinking about using a sport sack, first of all, do it, second of all, train the dog from a young age to get into it. I started at about 10 weeks. Once they tolerate the experience of putting their front legs through the holes and being zipped up-- at least my pup soon realized it was fun.
