It allowed my senior dog to go on longer hikes and experience all the adventures she used to be able to Tom. She willingly goes in when she gets tired about halfway through a hike. She seems nice and cozy inside and loves looking around while riding. Thank you for making this!!!
Backpack comes in handy for training. My husband and I ate training to hike Mont Blanc in July. We have our pup walk 2-3 miles then pop him in the backpack. He loves it.
I decided to sell the car but obviously didn't want to leave Dango behind. Dogs are allowed on the Cincinnati Metro if they're in a carrier, so I got the Trainer. It is well made, despite being the cheapesr option. I would recommend one of the more robust ones for trails, but for city public transit, walking, and biking, this is perfect. He doesn't like it yet... but once we actually start going out on adventures and he sees why I got it, I'm sure he'll be eager to go in the backpack.
He's not very treat motivated, so I did find that for us the best way to get him desensitized to the bag is to just stick him in there despite the protests and praise him bunches when he's in calmly.
To get my stubborn pup in the bag I first clipped the carabiner to his collar to prevent him from running off. Normally, after I think you're supposed to put your pups legs through the holes... my dog is a protester so I buckled the color next and zipped halfway (carefully ensuring no fur was stuck). This secured him enough to be able to pull his legs through without him thrashing and hurting himself. Once it was zipped and I got it on my back he was much calmer.
Large was a good size for a Shiba Inu. It is clear this model is designed for smaller dogs and large breed puppies as a stepping stone for the more robust ones... eventually if the Urban one ever comes in stock again I'd love to get that one.
I have not had a chance to test out the waterproofing, but in general I think it will keep the weather out from the feel of the material.
I attached a video of his first time in the k9 sport sack.
That block is definitely a game changer. I have a 10 pound chihuahua and the XS sack seemed too big until I placed the block.
The block is also well made..
Perfect K9 sack for my small dog that sometimes (most of the times) doesn’t want to walk. Plus she enjoys it.
I am not using this pop-up tent for camping. I have a cranky senior red heeler who recently decided that she no longer wants the rest of the pack to enter the bedroom at night. When she is in the tent she can’t see them walk in = no drama.
Plus, she really likes the tent. I’ve got a bolster bed in it and a sheet over the top to keep it dark. She loves her cave and it makes bedtime much more pleasant for everyone. The tent weighs almost nothing and it is easy to pick up and move.
The waist belt is a game changer. The Knavigate is a lighter option with a waist belt and works perfect for our corgis.
We get a Medium as they are smaller/thinner corgis and it’s perfect.
Was recommended by the vet to keep Kona away from dogs while we waited for her to complete her vaccinations. However, I still wanted to take her outside on hikes and this pack came in clutch on a trip to Arizona, allowing her to experience the outside world without worry of her picking up bugs. From hikes in the desert to walking around outlet/malls, Kona comfortably sat in her backpack. My only concern is that she may become too lazy knowing her owner is willing to carry her when tired 😅. So many people commented on the backpacks utility and wanted to get one for themselves.
Hands down one of the best investments I made during Kona's first year of life. Will definitely be purchasing a bigger backpack for when I eventually take Kona on much longer hikes. Thanks for this amazing product!
We are now able to take our aging basset on walks and hikes. Great backpack!
My son just loves the doggie back pack for his new puppy. Good dog also loves it!
Love it. My dog adapted quickly. Seems so far to be a great gift. Got it as a Christmas present.
We love our trainer, it’s perfect! Our little one goes everywhere in it!
Absolutely perfect! My little man is able to sit up correctly
We purchased the backpack with the intentions of bringing Piper along for biking , hiking and other types of day trips or travel. Our initial impressions are positive and we look forward to using the backpack very soon. At the time of this review she seems happy strapped to our backs around the house and neighborhood.
I ordered this Kolossus/Rover 2 backpack carrier for my 65lb Standard Bernedoodle, so I can taking onto NYC subway. Although she is only 65lb, her size almost exceeds the max capacity of the XXL size. I was a little worried and hesitant when I first tried to get her in to the bag. It was not easy at the first time as she didn't like to sit or lay on the backpack. However, the more we practiced, my dog gets easier with the backpack. We were in NYC for about 2 days and my dog had absolutely no issue in the bag while on subway! It was amazing that I could taking my dog around in the city! The backpack is durable while my dog feels comfy in it. I appreciate such design for large breed pups! It definitely saves my life as a large breed dog lover who always wants to bring the pup in the city! And K9 Sport Sack Team is super supportive about providing the instruction videos for their customers! Thank you!
The K9 Sport Sack was designed exactly for this! Let your pup feel the wind in its face.
Pets can be allowed on public transportation as long as they are in carriers and the K9 Sport Sack fits that bill.
We know your dog was meant to walk and play, but when he/she tires out or gets hurt we're here for relief!
Keep you pet off the ground and on your back when shopping or strolling around town.
