It works well walking around. However, I hoped on a scooter, and she gets a bit skiddish at 40mph... once she hits or passes 80lb(50 now), might be just for walking around. Great product for sure
The Rover 2 allows me to still go on nice long hikes with my 3-month-old golden retriever. He walks for a bit and when he tires out, I put him in the pack and off we go.
I bought the Rover when it first came out a couple years or so ago for my Aussie. We absolutely loved it. When I saw K9 had remade the Rover, I didn't know how much better it could get. This thing is seriously incredible. I love how the shoulder straps can be adjusted to fit my body better and the extra padding they added to it. Fantastic quality. We'll be using it tons more as soon as it warms up.
My dog (cow dog mutt mix) is a rescue and was originally found abandoned on a farm, while he has enough energy to make the journey to my friends cabin in any time of year if you drive away from him on a vehicle he just stops and gets anxious. In the winter we have to snowmobile in and carrying a dog on a snowmobile is challenging (tried it the first time). It takes some convincing and treats don't hurt but once he's in and adjusted he made the whole trip (about 20 min) and was totally fine. If you do this as well be sure to go slow on the snowmobile we were paced by my buddies malamute (max speed 15 mph). It takes some adjustments to get my dog comfortable so it could be a bit wider for how deep it is but it isn't a major issue.
We have a 12 year old boxer mix, with 3 legs and bad arthritis. We recently got a new puppy and my first baby was getting left at home on all of our adventures because his body couldn’t take it. He loved this backpack. With the help of treats for positive reinforcement the first time, he willingly got into the pack and on my husband’s back. He was happy and perky during our walk. Most important, at the end of our walk he wasn’t stiff or uncomfortable. I would highly recommend!
